Lamella Clarifier Control System Upgrade

Client: A global leader in the food meat processing industry.
Location: Yanco NSW
Project Type: Automation, Electrical

This client is a leading global company in the food industry, known for its expertise in meat processing and production. With numerous facilities around the world, the company is dedicated to maintaining high standards of operational efficiency and environmental sustainability.

Our client in Riverina NSW required a new control system for their Lamella Clarifier, a vital part of their water treatment process, to ensure efficient separation of solids from liquids. VK Logic was tasked with the electrical and automation to design and construct a new MCC (Motor Control Cabinet) and undertake automation of this into the existing plant SCADA system.

Our greatest challenge was working in with the tight windows of commissioning periods we were given. The automation team had to work swiftly in each window ensuring the plant was resumed to normal operation when the window ended. Commissioning was undertaken in 3 shutdown windows with integration of the new clarifier operating flawlessly first time around.

Control system upgrade for a Lamella Clarifier

VK Logic delivered a comprehensive solution that addressed all the clients requirements:

  • VK Logic designed and constructed a new control system for the Lamella Clarifier, including a new MCC/PLC panel, field works and on-site commissioning.
  • Modifications were made to the existing plant control system and SCADA to ensure seamless integration with the new system.

VK Logic also provided mechanical installation support, handling the civil design and installation of pipework to meet the project’s specifications.

The new control system for the Lamella Clarifier was successfully integrated with the existing infrastructure. The project was completed on time, minimising any downtime or disruption to the plant operations. The enhanced control system improved the efficiency of the wastewater treatment process, contributing to the plant’s overall operational efficiency.
